Hello, Nicole here today to share my 2025 Album Opener page. Every year I take a favorite image from our recent family photo session and use that to create a fun page to go into that first empty page protector for all my 2025 memories.
For The Record is one of those collections that just has my heart. I love the office themed elements and icons, the bright and cheerful color palette and the everyday theme that allows for so many subjects to be documented.
I used a separate scrap sheet of 12x12 cardstock and a ruler to draw lines and create the template for the pattern paper segments in the background. I pulled in paper from both the 12x12 Pattern Papers and the 6x8 Paper Pad. I then hand stitched around the edges of each segment with coordinating colored DMC threads.
I printed my photo in Photoshop Elements in a circle at approximately 6 inches round and used a circle cutter tool to trim it out. From there I basically just had fun sorting through die cut packs, stickers and embellishments to fill in interest around the circular photo.
I made sure before I started adding details to the circular area, to select my title from the foam stickers and the sentiment bits. I then planned out where those title pieces would be placed and made sure to layer some elements under this area and selected images and icons that were larger and did not have any text or phrases printed on them to allow those title pieces to stand out.
When I create these album opener pages, I do not worry about any journaling or documenting the actual photo. These are pages that allow for fun techniques and creating an introduction into the rest of the album.
If you want to see how I put this page together I have a process video over on my channel showing how I created this layout.
