365! by Amber Mitchell

365! by Amber Mitchell

Hello friends! Amber Mitchell here on the Simple Stories blog today to share with you a fun mini album set that I created using the new ‘Good Stuff’ collection.

With the New Year here, I opted to create a book full of mini albums for all of my 2022 goals and memories. The ‘Good Stuff’ collection was perfect for this project as it comes with cut-aparts designed for every month.

To create the base of this mini album, I first took two sheets of medium weight chipboard that measured 4.5 x 6.5 inches. I wrapped the front cover using the ‘May’ patterned paper. I wrapped the back cover using the ‘October’ patterned paper.

To create the spine of the album, I took a strip of paper that measured 4 x 6.5 inches. I scored on the 4-inch side at 1 and 3 inches. I then adhered the spine to the covers using these scored tabs. For a bit of extra fun, I added a sheet of clear acetate over the spine before adhering everything into place.

To line the inside of the album, I used two sheets of paper from the 6 x 8 Paper Pad and trimmed them down to 4 3/8 x 6.5 inches.

Since this project is designed to document the entire 2022 year, I decided to make three individual notebooks or mini albums. I used an array of 3 x 4-inch and 4 x 6-inch cut-aparts from ‘Good Stuff’. I bound these together using the We R Memory Keepers Mini Cinch tool.

To store these albums, I added two pockets to the inside of the project base. To create these pockets, I took two sheets of paper that measured 5 x 8 3/8 inches. I scored each paper individually at the following measurements:

  • On the 5-inch side, score at 1 and 2 inches.
  • On the 8 3/8-inch side, score on both ends at 1 and 2 inches.

I adhered the pockets evenly to both sides of the album base and backed the inside of the pockets using sheets of patterned paper that measured 3 x 4 3/8 inches.

To embellish the cover of the album, I created a peek-a-boo heart. I lined the heart using yellow, glittered tulle. For a bit of extra fun, I added some Decorative Brads behind the heart, along with some flower Chipboard Stickers.

I titled the album “365 Days of Happy” and added some closure straps using scrap papers and Velcro.

A few rolled paper flowers on the spine finished this album off perfectly! It’s all ready for 2022’s upcoming memories!

Thanks so much for stopping by my post today! I’ll see you next time with another fun project!
