Hey friends! Brianna Estrella here today and I'm so thrilled to be able to share another layout with y'all today! Summer is winding down with Fall quickly approaching and that means... school is back in session! I created a back-to-school layout using the amazing Book Fair collection and I really enjoyed putting this page together. Here it is:
I wanted to use a larger photo for this page since I planned on having my design feature a lot of the smaller icons in this collection. To start, I chose two of the 12x12 patterned papers for my base. I went with the Dream Big and Class Schedule papers and since I planned on featuring quite a bit of embellishments, I went with the Warm White Color Vibe cardstock as my main base layer. This would allow everything to pop and not be too busy against a competing pattern.
Next, I trimmed down a piece of the School Rules 12x12 paper to act as a grounding element for my photos and embellishments. I adhered it in the center of my page and then matted my photo using a paper from the 6x8 Paper Pad. I then adhered my photo right on top of the School Rules paper strip. Next, I pulled out the Bits & Pieces pack and selected a bunch of the school supply icons. This photo is of my youngest son's first day of kindergarten, so I thought it would be fun to have them surround the photo. I popped a few up on foam tape and then twisted and turned some of them for some interest.
I chose the cute school bus journaling piece from the Journal Bits pack and adhered it to the bottom left of my photo. My title is from the Foam Stickers set and it fits perfectly on the bottom right corner of my photo. I also love when there's a lot of white space on my photos, I really enjoy embellishing right on top of them!
I felt like the top right and bottom left corners of my page needed a little something, so I pulled out the Big Bits pack and these packs have quickly become a favorite of mine since they've been released! I built a fun cluster down at the bottom and then simply added a banner up to the right. In doing this, these two corners really brought the whole page together!
Lastly, I sprinkled in a few Enamel Dots and some gold ink splatters to finish it off. Here's one last look:
